The muncipality of Clarington is made up of towns and hamlets, the largest of which include Courtice, Bowmanville, and Newcastle, Ontario. Courtice shares a boarder with Oshawa and it's easy to mistake one for the other in your dailiy coming and goings. Bowmanville sits further east on along the 401 and while it has always been the largest town in the municiaplity the last few years have seen the town grow in leaps and bounds. Newcastle was until recently what most people would consider a sleepy hamlet on the edge of Durham Region. Today it is an area of growth for Clarington with new builders expanding boaders of and the Port of Newcastle taking on a life of its own.
While I personally live in Newcastle, I'm a firm believer that not only is Clarington a great place to raise a family, but that the Durham Region in general is going to be a centre for growth in the Greater Toronto Area over the next decade. Whether via the Canadian Real Estate magazine, the Realty Times, or Real Estate blogs I'm happy to promote the region as a place that not only boasts great quality of life, but that I believe will be a good investment in the coming years.
